Wakefield Add Strike With Seven New Signings

Wakefield AFC are excited to announce the addition of seven new players to the 2020/21 squad!

First up in today’s announcements is Bryce Orsini. The young American joins the club as part of the Elite Football Programme and has already established himself as a fan favourite. Having previously been at DC United and Maryland Bobcats, the forward will bring a whole new vibe to the team.

Also joining the club is another forward in Samuel Amissah. The former Leeds United U23 star has already shown his potential in pre-season, scoring a couple of goals, and he will be looking to build on that as the season kicks off.

Next up is former Frickley striker Dan Palmer. Palmer joins with a wealth of experience having played at higher levels and showed what he could do by scoring 2 in the opening pre-season.

Fourth addition of the night is James Makuba. The Spaniard joins from El Bonillo CF and has already proven to be a great addition to the squad. Although Makuba has some size to him, he has deceptive speed and will be a real asset in any attacking position.

Another addition to Lockwood’s side is another former Frickley player, Jack Burton. Burton, although only 22, has the ability to guide the team around the park from centre midfield as well as being strong and committed defensively.

Another former Frickley Athletic player joins the ranks in Midfielder, Jed Wilkinson. The versatile player, who’s also made an appearance at left wing back, has shown great promise in attack during pre-season, putting aforementioned Amissah through for a wonderful goal. Although Wilkinson has shown great potential in attack, he’s not one to back out of a challenge either and will be a solid addition to the side.

Finally, we have Patrick Hoyle joining the club. The centre midfielder has been impressive throughout pre-season with solid displays every time he’s made an appearance. Hoyle, who can also play centre back, will be a welcome addition to the squad and will offer some stability and support to the Wakefield defence.
