Wakefield AFC is delighted to announce a brand new partnership with Virtual Learning UK which will enable the club to offer a Level 3 BTEC qualification in Sport plus Higher Education courses.
Established in 2008, VLUK provides a range of services to the education sector, from CPD and teacher training, through to full time education programmes for young people. VLUK is an approved government provider, educating over 1500 young people aged 16-24 each academic year at Levels 2-5.
Based at our Development Hub at The Dorothy Hyman Stadium, learners can combine their studies with their love of football, training on a daily basis with UEFA qualified coaches to advance their football skills as well as their academic and personal progression. BTEC Students will also be part of our Wakefield AFC Junior Premier League Team, playing against some of the best academies around the UK. Our Higher Education cohort will cement their places in our Elite Football Programme squad who currently play in Division 2 of the Sheffield and Hallamshire County Senior League.
The partnership between Wakefield AFC and VLUK will allow the club to continue its progression off the field of play, projecting the club forward in a major way.

We now offer our young players a first class education service and are now up there with the professional clubs. Any young player wanting to continue with their education whilst training full time can do so with confidence by joining Wakefield AFC”.
