On the 21st October it was announced that South Yorkshire would enter the highest Coronavirus Alert Level – Tier 3 as of 00:01am on Saturday 24th October. A significant amount of teams currently playing in the Sheffield & Hallamshire County Senior Leagues are all part of the South Yorkshire area (13/15 in the Premier Division).
According to current FA guidelines, as of Saturday 24th October, adult clubs/Players cannot travel into or out of Tier 3 areas to participate in football activity (For example Wakefield to Sheffield or vice versa). The league will continue with other clubs eligible to play each other due to being in a Tier 3 area.
With that said, our First Team game against Hepworth United F.C. on Saturday 24th October will go ahead, as both teams are from the West Yorkshire area, which is currently in Tier 2 of the Coronavirus Alert Levels. Following discussions with the fa and the league, fans are still able to attend tomorrow’s game.
