Wakefield AFC are excited to announce the addition of another six players to the 2020/21 squad!
Centre back, Louis Andre, joins the club from Shelley FC and has also had stints at Emley AFC and Brighouse Town.
Also joining the club is another centre back, Greg Hunter. Hunter joins Wakefield after playing at a higher level with Hemsworth Miners Welfare and Ossett Albion.
Both Andre and Hunter have been solid at the back and have both captained the side at some point over pre-season showing great leadership and determination when on the field.
Next is defender, Gervas Chipasha. ‘Gerv’ is comfortable across the back line and has become a bit of a fans’ favourite already in pre-season for his sheer size, power and commitment when challenging for the ball.
Right Back Ruben Musat joins the club after a successful trial. Musat has played at higher levels in England, as well as playing at a semi-professional level in Greece. The Romanian is one of the loudest players on the field and will undoubtedly cause problems for most teams on the right edge this season.
Next up is left back Jack Budge. Budge joins the club having played for Welwyn Garden City, who currently play at Step 4 in the Southern Central League Division One. Budge started his Wakefield AFC career with a stunning goal against Newsome FC, and will be looking to play a big part in Lockwood’s team this year.
Finally we have left wing back Desmond Amponsah. Amponsah, who joins from Barnsley FC Shadow Squad, has been outstanding the last few weeks, with a fantastic assist against Kellingley Welfare FC, and is certainly a real handful going forward.
