MATCH PREVIEW: Ryan Eades returns to face Oughtibridge

SHEFFIELD & HALLAMSHIRE COUNTY SENIOR LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION
Saturday 12th October 2019 | 3:00pm Kick Off | Dorothy Hyman Stadium, Cudworth | S72 8LH

FORM
Last week’s 3-1 win at home to Jubilee Sports made it three wins on the bounce for Wakefield including the cup win over Burngreave. We are now unbeaten in five matches overall and four in the league. The only blip in those five being the 2-2 with this weekend’s opponents Oughtibridge who snatched a draw in the dying seconds of the game. Including the League Cup, we’ve played nine games this season and lost only one, a 3-0 defeat away to Swinton Athletic. We are also therefore unbeaten at home with one draw (3-3 with Dodworth Miners Welfare on the 4G pitch) and three wins (all on the grass pitch with eleven goals scored and just two conceded).

SQUAD NEWS
As confirmed last week, Quinaceo Hunt is now away on international duty with Bermuda and will miss this match against Oughtibridge and the next one in the League Cup at home  to South Kirby Colliery. He’s been our lucky talisman so far as we won all four games with him between the sticks. Ryan Eades will return to the number one spot after a successful stint in the reserves, keen for retribution after his last match in the first team was the 2-2 draw at Oughtibridge. With Jack Enkh no longer with the club Jean Merour will likely continue at left back with Chris Sholu on the right. The 4-3-3 formation has been working well lately so surely the only questions will relate to the front line. Will Thomas Eclapier return to first team action? Will last week’s debutant from the bench, Mo Hamid, get a starting sport this week? Time will tell.

OPPOSITION
Oughtibridge ended a five-match streak without a win (two draws, three defeats) with a 3-1 win at home to Houghton Main at the end of September. Since then though they’ve suffered their fifth defeat of the season with a 4-2 loss to Stocksbridge Park Steels Reserves last weekend.
