Saturday’s fixture against Stocksbridge Park Steels Reserves has been postponed.
Stocksbridge Park Steels Reserves have opted to use their newly introduced ‘Wildcard’ and informed the club on Wednesday afternoon of their intentions to postpone the game.
The ‘Wildcard’ is a new rule that has been voted in by The Sheffield & Hallamshire County Senior League clubs which allows clubs to postpone games at a minimum of 72 hours notice. Clubs are able to postpone games for any reason and may use their wildcard if they are struggling to field a team, for example.
Although Wakefield AFC is disappointed to have it’s second game of the season postponed, the club respects the decision and the intention to keep the integrity and standards of the league at a high level and we look forward to both rearranged fixtures later in the year against Stocksbridge and Sheffield Town.
Anyone that has bought a ticket for Saturday’s game will be contacted by the club over the next 24 hours.
Wakefield AFC will now look ahead to the #Challenge500 game vs Penistone Church Reserves on Friday 15th October, 7:45pm at The Millennium Stadium.
