Quigley Joins First Team Set Up

Wakefield AFC is delighted to announce the appointment of Kyle Quigley as First Team Coach. Quigley will link up with First Team Manager, Adam Lockwood, ahead of the 2021/22 season.

Quigley, who is a UEFA A Licensed and FA Youth Module Coach, brings a wealth of experience to the club, having played as a professional for Bradford City and earning caps for Northern Ireland Youth. However, a knee injury forced Kyle into dropping into Non-League football where he spent five years of his career.

Following his playing career, Quigley spent five years at Barnsley FC as a coach and a scout for the League One outfit, along with coaching in Africa at the Football Coaches Association of African Football (FCAAN), and Femben International in South Africa. More recently, Quigley was part of the backroom staff at Ossett United.

“I met with Adam and wanted to be part of this project, especially with the Academy set up that Wakefield AFC has. Being able to work with the youth players, and helping them transition into first team football, is something I’m looking forward to. We still have a lot to do coaching wise from a tactical point of view with the first team, as it’s been all about fitness and philosophy so far, but I’m really looking forward to the challenge ahead,” Quigley said.

“I’m delighted Kyle is joining us. He’s a great addition to our team to help build our club for the future,” Lockwood added.
