WAKEFIELD A.F.C. APPOINTS CLUB WELFARE OFFICER

Wakefield A.F.C is delighted to announce the introduction of our new, dedicated, Club Welfare Officer – Grace Ainsworth.

The role of Club Welfare Officer (CWO) is to be clear about the clubs responsibilities when running activities for children and young people and to help club personnel understand what their duty of care towards children and young people actually means and entails on a day-to-day basis. The recruitment of a C.W.O demonstrates Wakefield A.F.C’s continued commitment to being a professional club and maintaining the FA charter standards.

Grace, a qualified social worker, commences this new role having already been a long-time member of the Club’s volunteer committee and of course an almost ever-present fan on match-days.

Commenting on her new role, Grace said: ‘I’m so excited and grateful to be given the opportunity to take on the role of C.W.O at Wakefield A.F.C. As a fan of the Club, I’m delighted to be able to use my experience working in both children’s and adults’ social care settings to more formally contribute to creating a safe environment for players, staff and fans alike.’
