Wakefield AFC are delighted to welcome experienced development coach, Shane Pallett, to the club.
Shane has been an academy coach at Doncaster Rovers FC for over 10 years, coaching young players from ages 12-18. Shane has educated himself at Doncaster and is qualified at FA B-License and Pre-A License, and has also gained his FA Advanced Youth Coaching Award. During his time at Doncaster, Shane has coached and toured with teams in Sweden & Portugal. He has also coached teams domestically against other Academy teams such as Manchester United, Manchester City & Leeds United.
Shane will take full control of our Academy set up from our Under 7’s up to our Under 19’s. Our Under 7’s to Under 16’s will be our Development Academy and our Under 17’s, Under 18’s, and Under 19’s will be our Youth Academy.
Shane’s philosophy is to create a culture of problem solving, hard working, high standard, disciplined players that is achieved through the players’ own willing and determination.
Shane is delighted to join Wakefield AFC and added:“My goal over the coming years will be to build a player-centered programme allowing players freedom to perform, whilst expressing their individual skills, creativity, and talent within games and training sessions. My values and beliefs are that players must always work hard, always be fully dedicated, show professionalism and respect to teammates, coaches, and all that represent our club at all times. Our aims will be to improve all players, develop local talent and invest in youth from the little ones all the way up the Wakefield AFC pyramid to our first team. We will ensure that the playing environment consists of hard work, fun and enjoyment. It’s our goal at our club to create good people as well as good players and to encourage players to gain that sense of pride playing at Wakefield AFC.”
