Wakefield AFC are proud to announce that the West Riding FA have today granted us Level 3 Charter Standard Club status.
This is a historic day for the club who’s officials and volunteers have worked tirelessly behind the scenes to put the necessary foundations in place to help us achieve this landmark.
But what does this all mean? To help you understand more about the FA Charter Standard award we have put together the following Q & A guide:
“What is an FA Charter Standard Club?”
The FA Charter Standard Programme is The FA’s accreditation scheme open to all grassroots clubs and leagues. It aims to raise standards in the grassroots game, supporting the development of clubs and leagues, recognising and rewarding commitment, quality and achievement.
“Wakefield are a Level 3 Adult Charter Standard Club. What are the different levels of this accreditation?”
There are 3 levels of the FA’s Charter Standard accreditation.
Level 3 – FA Charter Standard Club
Level 2 – FA Charter Development Club
Level 1 – FA Charter Community Club
“How is it awarded?”
The FA Charter Standard accreditation is for clubs who can be proud to be places where people want to play. These are the clubs who demonstrate they offer well-run and sustainable football. Clubs which achieve The FA Charter Standard status are proud to prioritise qualified coaching and safeguarding as well as the values of The FA’s Respect campaign as part of their game.
“What are the benefits of being a recognised FA Charter Standard Club?”
In return for becoming accredited The FA Charter Standard status, clubs receive access to benefits that help to attract and retain players, volunteers and supporters. The level of support and resources available will depend on the level of accreditation a club achieves. Benefits clubs experience include: • Attract and retain players, supporters and volunteers • Funding for football equipment • Access to promotional resources and guidance • Tailored support from The FA and County FAs
The club, with the aid of its volunteers, will now put plans in place to maintain this standard as well as looking towards progressing to a level 2, development club.
Further details on future plans will be announced in due course.
For us to acheive these we have had to prove that we have the following in place:
